Civilians who work with the military and veterans often find that translating experiences from the military context to the civilian sector, into terms that civilians can understand, can be very difficult. This book really clarifies not only the basic resume and cover letter writing skills that everyone can use, but truly goes into details specific to the problem of translating military experience into a resume that can easily be read in the corporate world. Within this book are easy to read explanations of how to write certain skills. A whole chapter is dedicated to presenting clear and easy to read example resumes for many careers including but not limited to: Aircraft Maintenance, Law Enforcement, Security, Personnel Management, and Information Systems. Another chapter has simple charts showing the translation of military rank to the corresponding civilian title as well as charts correlating the level on military education/training to that of the civilian sector. But not only does this book explain how to write a resume and cover letter specific to the military experience, but it also provides a plethora of resources that those affiliated with the military can take advantage of such as companies that look to hire veterans as well as on base help with the career search. This roadmap of resume and letter writing is truly a great place to start for those who look to expand their career out of the military sector into the corporate world.
